Direct Your Donation
Put My Money to Work Today!
By giving directly to Toronto Arts Fund your contribution
is allocated towards the most urgent program needs of
Torontos arts community. Toronto Arts Fund was initiated
in 2002 as part of a ten-year initiative to eliminate
the gap in operating revenues between what arts organizations
have now and what they really need. Toronto Arts Fund
seeks and receives gifts on behalf of the not-for-profit
arts sector in Toronto. The Fund is intended to augment,
not duplicate, existing fundraising efforts by arts organizations.
Invest My Money for Tomorrow
By creating an endowment within Toronto Arts Fund your
contribution will generate income over the long term,
looking after the needs and future of Toronto Arts. Toronto
Arts Fund was initiated in 2002 as part of a ten-year
initiative to eliminate the gap in operating revenues
between what arts organizations have now and what they
really need. The capital of your endowment gift is held
and invested over a period of years, often in perpetuity,
while the income is spent on present-day programming needs. |

Choose How to Give
Outright Gift
An outright cash gift is one in which every dollar given
is allocated directly towards increasing the operating
funds of TAC clients. A fully tax receiptable cash gift
may be given to TACF at any time throughout the calendar
year. Personal or corporate cheques, cash and/or credit
card withdrawal are accepted. Ways of
Giving
Monthly Giving
Your annual contribution may be paid monthly through credit
card payments or post-dated cheques. All contributions
are fully tax-deductible, and a tax receipt will be issued
once annually prior to the end of the calendar year, unless
you specify otherwise. Your pledge may also be cancelled
at any time. Click
here to bring up the TACF Monthly Giving Pre-Authorized
Debit Agreement form.
Gifts of publicly traded securities
Donate securities directly to TACF and get a significant
decrease in your capital gains tax. Generally, the capital
gains inclusion rate is 50%. However, only 25% of capital
gains on publicly-traded securities donated to registered
charities in Canada (including Toronto Arts Fund) are
taxed. Since the tax receipt reflects the full market
value of the gift, the tax credits resulting from the
gift of security far outweigh the tax payable on the capital
gain. Publicly-traded securities include shares, bonds,
warrants and options listed on a stock exchange as well
as mutual fund units.
To make a donation of securities to Toronto Arts Fund,
please notify TACF of your intention, and instruct your
financial institution or broker to transfer your gift
of securities electronically or via certificate form to
TACF. You will be receipted for the fair market value
of your gift. Gifts of life insurance
Make a significant donation to TACF at relatively little
cost and is a practical means for you to make a future
major gift to TACF and still enjoy benefits of tax relief
during your lifetime. Charitable gift annuities
Provide a significant gift to TACF that can also provide
you some income in your lifetime. Charitable
remainder trusts
Provide a significant gift to TACF through a trust and
receive the income from the trust. Bequest/gifts
by will
Leave a donation to TACF in your will. TACF is a member
of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners' Leave a
Legacy program. You can leave a legacy by simply remembering
TACF in your will. Please note that undesignated bequests,
(meaning gifts that do not stipulate restricted usage
of the gifts), are particularly valued as they allow TACF
to apply the principal and/or income to its highest programming
priorities. Your estate will receive a donation receipt
for the full amount of the bequest, this can assist in
reducing the tax payable on your final income tax return.
It is highly recommended that donors consult with their
own tax or legal advisors prior to making a planned gift.
Named Endowments
You may wish to set up a named fund in honour of a loved
one or to mark a special occasion. The minimum amount
required to set up an unrestricted named endowment fund
is $50,000. The minimum amount required to set up a restricted
named endowment is $100,000. Please contact Stacey
Sinclair directly to discuss your needs/wishes. |
